Bolton odds-on in race for Zaha

Zaha was voted Palace's Young Player of the Year in 2011

Bolton Wanderers are the 8/13 favourites to sign promising Crystal Palace striker Wilfried Zaha after Trotters boss Owen Coyle revealed that the club had made a bid for the 19-year-old.

“I think it is documented now that we have made an offer, which we have,” said Coyle on Monday.

“I don't think it is to the value that the Crystal Palace chairman (wants), but it is an offer we felt was fair for where a very talented young player is at the moment.

“We would love for that to come to fruition, but at the moment it looks as if we are a way apart in terms of valuation.”

Zaha was voted Palace’s Young Player of the Year in 2011 and has made over 50 first-team appearances for the club, despite his years. Although born in the Ivory Coast Zaha has been capped by England at Under-19 level.

Newcastle and QPR are both quoted at betting odds of 8/1 to swoop in and snatch the player from under Coyle’s nose, while West Brom are quoted at 12/1.
