Bookies proclaim title race down to two

City remain three points clear at the summit

Bookmakers are suggesting that the Premier League title race is now between the two Manchester clubs after Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool all lost and Chelsea could only take a point from Carrow Road.

Coral now make Manchester City their 2/5 favourites to end the season atop of the pile, with Manchester United quoted at 11/4 to make it back-to-back titles.

City remain three points clear at the summit following Mario Balotelli’s late penalty against Spurs, while United kept with the pace by beating Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates. The Gunners are now out to 500/1 for the title while North London rivals Tottenham are 20/1 to overhaul the eight-point deficit that developed courtesy of Sunday’s results.

“This not so super Sunday for Spurs and Arsenal was the day that the Premier League title race became a straight fight between the Manchester clubs in our book, while for Arsenal, a top four finish is looking ever more unlikely,” said Coral’s David Stevens.

Arsene Wenger’s side are now five points behind fourth-place Chelsea and are quoted at odds of 5/2 for a top four finish. Liverpool’s 3-1 loss at Bolton left them in seventh a further point behind Arsenal and they are now 7/2 to be playing Champions League football next season.
