Chelsea backed in Premier League title betting

The Blues are now no bigger than 4/1

Chelsea were the big movers in the Premier League title betting this weekend as Andre Villas-Boas’s men romped to a 5-1 victory over Bolton on Sunday.

The Blues have been shortened from general odds of 5/1 and are now no bigger than 4/1, with many bookies going as short as 7/2, on them winning the Premier League.

Manchester United were eased slightly following an unconvincing 2-0 win over Norwich and can now be backed at odds of 10/11 to retain their title. Manchester City bounced back from the Munich debacle and eased their way to a comfortable three points against Blackburn; they’re now generally available to back at 5/2.

It was a bad weekend for Arsenal who lost 2-1 at Tottenham and also saw their north London neighbours climb above them in the Premier League winner betting market. Spurs are now quoted at 50/1 to win the title with Arsenal out to as big as 80/1 in places.

Elsewhere Liverpool kept up their assault with a controversial 2-0 win over Everton. Kenny Dalglish’s side remain six points off the pace but have been shortened in the football betting to a generally available 25/1.
