Chelsea Comeback to Stun United

Chelsea's impressive second half performance was deserving of their 2-1 victory

Chelsea came back from 1-0 down against Manchester United last night to stun the league leaders and blow the title race wide open.

Controversial incidents aside, Chelsea's impressive second half performance was deserving of their 2-1 victory and enough for Carlo Ancelotti to suggest that his side are not yet out of the title race. The gap between the league leaders and the champions is now down to 12 points, with Chelsea having played a game fewer and a rematch between the sides at Old Trafford still to come.

United have now lengthened to betting odds of 4/6 (from 4/9) to regain the title while Chelsea are now 14/1 (from 20/1).

The result was also some good news at the end of a disappointing week for Arsenal. The Gunners will now close the gap at the top to just one point if they can to win their game in hand and the bookmakers have shortened the odds on their title chances to 6/4 (from 15/8).

Odds on both Manchester City (66/1) and Tottenham (150/1) remain unchanged following last night's result.

Perhaps most significantly for Chelsea they are now as short as 1/7 to achieve a top four finish; an outcome that was beginning to look precarious prior to that second-half comeback. Tottenham, conversely, are now as big as 6/5 to finish in the Champions League places.
