Chelsea made clear favourites for FA Cup

Stan James offer odds of 4/7 on Roberto di Matteo's side

Chelsea are the strong favourites to win this season’s FA Cup after a 5-1 win over Tottenham in Sunday’s semi-final set up a Wembley final with Liverpool.

Stan James offer odds of 4/7 on Roberto di Matteo’s side lifting the FA Cup on 5th May 2012, with Liverpool priced at 5/4 to complete the English domestic cup double.

Earlier in the weekend a late Andy Carroll header booked Liverpool’s place in the final, after Nikica Jelavic had given Everton a first-half lead which was alter cancelled out by Luis Suarez.

“I think the players that were out there, those that have made a contribution throughout the whole run in the FA Cup have been fantastic for the football club,” Kenny Dalglish told the Liverpool Echo.

Dalglish has been under severe pressure in recent weeks as Liverpool’s league form has continued to suffer. William Hill had offered odds of 5/6 that the Anfield legend would no longer be manager of the club on the opening day of next season.

Di Matteo, on the other hand, continues to see his stock rise at Stamford Bridge and he is now Sportingbet’s 3/1 favourite to be named the next permanent manager of Chelsea.
