Fans call for Kean to quit

1/3 that Kean is not in charge of Blackburn on the final day of the season

Fans of Blackburn Rovers have sent a letter to club owners Vekny’s asking them to consider the position of manager Steve Kean following a pointless start to the new season.

Blackburn have begun the season with losses against Wolves, Aston Villa and Everton inciting pressure from Rovers fans. However, Kean was backed by his employers in the transfer market and he has asked fans to be patient.

“It [the letter] doesn't make me feel bad at all. I have a great relationship with the owners,” said Kean.

“I can understand the fans' frustration that we don't have a point on the board right now, but I think it's a minority of the fans and we share that frustration that we have not got points.

“I would say bear with us - we said judge us at the end of the transfer window.

Kean recently travelled to India to meet with the club owners but insisted that the nature of his visit wasn’t a ‘crisis meeting’.

“Every time I go there people suggest it's a crisis meeting. It just happens to be the same day every month,” he added.

Kean is the strong favourite in the Next Premier League manager to be sacked betting at odds of 4/7 with Victor Chandler.

The same bookmaker offer odds of 1/3 that Kean is not in charge of Blackburn on the final day of the season and 2/1 that he remains at Ewood Park.
