Gunners 3/1 for top four
A goalless draw at Bolton on Wednesday evening saw Arsenal’s winless run stretched to four Premier League games and left The Gunners in seventh place, five points behind fourth-place Chelsea.
That run of poor form has forced bookmakers to push the Gunners out to 3/1 in the betting for a top four finish, and 500/1 in the Premier League title betting.
Despite the disappointment of dropping points against one of the Premier League’s relegation threatened clubs, manager Arsene Wenger believes that this side can battle back into contention.
“There's a long way to go - I'm confident we can come back,” said the Arsenal boss.
“Every game in the championship is a cup final now. We have confidence but we have to produce it game by game.”
Patience with the Frenchman is starting to wear thin at the Emirates, as was evidenced by the audible criticism of his decision to substitute Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the defeat to Manchester United. Although Sky Bet’s odds of 5/1 that he won’t last the season don’t suggest that his position is in any imminent danger, they are shortening. It is 1/9 that he is still in charge on the final day of the season.
