Gunners target Arteta

they could capture Arteta for around £10 million

Arsenal are targeting Everton midfielder Mikel Arteta in a deal believed to be in the region of £10 million.

The Gunners have been busy in the transfer market following Sunday’s 8-2 defeat to Manchester United and have so far signed Andre Santos, Per Mertesacker and Chu Young Park on deadline day.

Wenger is thought to be seeking a midfielder as a replacement for the outgoing Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri, and Everton’s precarious financial status means that they could capture Arteta for around £10 million.

Manager David Moyes admitted earlier this week that he could be forced to sell his best players if big offers are made.

“I think it's already been said that the money, depending on the value, would go to the bank,” Moyes told the Liverpool Echo.

“Everybody's got a price - Fabregas, Ronaldo, you name it. If anyone bids big enough I'm sure we'd take it. I'm not daft.”
