Henry 2/1 to score five or more
Thierry Henry made the perfect resumption of his Arsenal career by scoring the winning goal in the Gunners’ FA Cup tie against Leeds, just 10 minutes after being introduced from the substitute’s bench.
It was a typical Henry goal as he controlled the ball and proceeded to bend it past the visitors’ ‘keeper Andy Lonergan in one fluid movement. Bookmaker William Hill now offer odds of 2/1 that the Frenchman scores five or more competitive goals during his two-month loan spell.
“The script was duly played out, hundreds of Arsenal fans have cashed in on the inevitable goal – he was 3/1 to come on and score and 14/1 to score the only goal in a 1-0 win,” said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
The bookmaker also go 5/2 that he scores exactly one, 7/2 for exactly two and the same price for exactly three, with 10/3 available on him scoring exactly four.
Arsene Wenger’s side are the 8/1 to fourth-favourites to win the FA Cup and will now host Aston Villa in the fourth round.
William Hill also make Henry a 4/1 chance to play a competitive game for Arsenal in the 2012/13 season, after Wenger described the Gunners legend’s return as a fantasy.
“It was a little bit like a dream. It was a story you would tell young kids if you want to tell them a story about football,” said the Arsenal boss.
