Henry 5/4 to score on Gunners return
Arsenal have today confirmed Thierry Henry’s return to the club on a short-term loan deal from New York Red Bulls, meaning that the French striker is eligible to make his second debut for The Gunners in Monday’s FA Cup game against Leeds.
The 34-year-old is now quoted at odds of 5/4 by bookmaker Betfred to make a goalscoring return to the club on Monday evening at the Emirates, and 5/1 to get the first goal of the game.
Henry left the North London in 2007 to join Barcelona and has admitted that it was impossible to turn down a return to the club who recently unveiled a statue of him outside the Emirates Stadium.
“It's kind of unreal because you are talking about a statue and here I am now a few weeks later playing for Arsenal,” Henry told Arsenal Player.
“Arsenal and me has always been a love story, with some bad days. Hopefully people agree with me that there were more good days than bad, but I just love the club.
“They say love is blind, but it is difficult for me to say no to Arsenal.”
Paddy Power offer odds of 6/5 that Henry scores more than 2.5 league goals during his loan spell, with odds of 8/13 available on him scoring two or fewer. It is 6/4 that he makes only one league appearance for the club, 9/4 that he makes exactly two, 6/1 he plays three Premier League games, 10/1 he plays 4 or more and 3/1 that we don’t see him making a league appearance.
