Juan Mata Transfer Betting Odds

The Spanish club have admitted to there being intense interest in their young winger

Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool have all been linked with a move for Valencia’s Spain Under 21 star Juan Mata this summer.

The Spanish club have admitted to there being intense interest in their young winger and that they would be willing to sell for a fee in the region of £21 million. The Gunners are believed to have opened negotiations with Valencia on the back of the potential sales of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri.

Spurs are also monitoring the situation closely amid uncertainty surrounding the future of Luka Modric while Liverpool’s interest appears to have cooled as they target Aston Villa winger Stewart Downing.

Mata’s current salary is thought to be around the £30,000 per week mark, a figure that the three interested English clubs could certainly significantly improve. However, there is a clause in the player’s contract that allows Valencia to offer him a new deal prior to agreeing to any sale.

Bookmaker Unibet have odds of 2/5 that Mata stays at Valencia for the start of the news season and price a move to Liverpool at 5/1. Skybet offer 4/1 that he joins Arsenal by the close of the summer transfer window and 8/1 that he moves to White Hart Lane.
