Lille dismiss Hazard interest

Arsene Wenger is now expected to set about bringing players into the club.

Arsenal are looking to Lille midfielder Eden Hazard as they look to rebuild their squad following the loss of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri.

Fabregas moved to Barcelona last week for a fee in the region of £30 million while Samir Nasri is now expected to complete his move to Manchester City for a reported fee of £25 million.

Following the protracted negotiations involving both players manager Arsene Wenger is now expected to set about bringing players into the club.

“The summer was very difficult because we had Cesc Fabregas and Nasri on permanent transfer negotiations and that is draining in the end," said Wenger.

“We lost two great players and that's a sad side of the story but at some stage it has to be over, because you want to focus on the future.”

One of the players that Arsenal are reported to be keen on is £25 million rated Belgian international Eden Hazard. However, representatives of the player’s club are confident that the 20-year-old will not leave.

“Eden will not be leaving this season,” Lille general manager Frederic Paquet told the BBC.

“We are aware of interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe but we are not prepared to sell.”
