Luka Modric Transfer Latest

at the moment his head's not in the right place

Luka Modric appears to be edging closer to his desired move to Stamford Bridge after manager Harry Redknapp admitted that the midfielder’s ‘head is not in the right place’ to play against Manchester United.

Chelsea have courted Modric all summer with the Blues having had multiple bids rejected. They are expected to come back with a final bid in the region of £30 million before the close of the summer transfer window.

The Croatian is currently not 100% fit but could have featured in the game against Manchester United had his manager wished to risk him.

“He's got a little bit of an injury,” Redknapp told TalkSport. “There's a possibility he could have played through it. But at the moment his head's not in the right place.”

Despite the admission, bookmaker Victor Chandler are still quoting betting odds of 1/2 that Modric remains a Tottenham player at the close of the summer transfer window.

Chelsea are the 6/4 betting favourites to sign Modric with Manchester United priced at 10/1 and Manchester City at 25/1.
