Moyes favourite to succeed Redknapp at Spurs

The Spurs boss has strenuously denied rumours that he will resign as manager

David Moyes is the 6/4 betting favourite to become the next manager of Tottenham Hotspur as speculation surrounding the future of current incumbent, Harry Redknapp, refuses to go away.

The Spurs boss has strenuously denied rumours that he will resign as manager but is set to hold talks with chairman Daniel Levy within the next week to discuss his future. Redknapp’s current contract is due to expire at the end of next season and it is understood that the pair are some distance apart in terms of reaching an agreement.

“No, I haven't resigned, and I have no idea why it is being suggested that I have resigned,” Redknapp told ESPN in reaction to the speculation.

“This is an outrage; an absolute liberty for people to be putting around this kind of rumour on the internet. It is not true, there is not a chance I will resign. Why should I? I have a year left on my contract.”

Bet365 offer the aforementioned 6/4 on Moyes becoming the next permanent manager of Spurs, with Roberto Martinez the only other man at single figure prices at odds of 4/1.

Rafael Benitez and Fabio Capello are next in the betting at odds of 14/1 followed by Alan Pardew and Jurgen Klinsmann at 16/1 and Andre Villas-Boas at 20/1.
