Moyes Odds Slashed in Premier League Sack Race

The Toffees are just four points above the relegation zone after last night's defeat to Arsenal

Bookmakers have been forced to slash their odds on David Moyes being the next Premier League manager to leave his post following a sudden run of bets on the Everton manager.

Rumours are rife that Moyes is unhappy that his hands were so tightly tied during the January transfer window when he lost key midfielder Stephen Pienaar but was unable to bring in a replacement.

The Toffees are just four points above the relegation zone after last night's defeat to Arsenal condemned the Merseyside club to their seventh defeat of the season.

Skybet were one of the first bookmakers to react to the news cutting the Scotsman into Even money to become the next Premier League manager to vacate his post.

'Moyes has seen one of his key players Stephen Pienaar leave in the January transfer window and has been unable to bring in new personnel to strengthen his squad. He looks an increasingly frustrated man and today's gamble suggests that he could be on the brink of ending his reign at Goodison Park,' said Sky Bet's Helen Jacob.

Martin O'Neill is the 3/1 favourite to replace Moyes at Goodison Park should the position become vacant. Slaven Bilic is the 7/1 second-favourite with Alex McLeish and Steve McClaren both at betting odds of 8/1.
