New boys eased in relegation betting

QPR are now out to 10/3 in the relegation betting

Swansea, Norwich and Queens Park Rangers all picked up three points on Saturday and have been eased in the relegation betting markets as a result.

It was the first time since February 2007 that all three newly promoted teams had won on the same day but not since the 2001-02 season have all three promoted teams managed to avoid the drop.

Swansea and QPR both recorded 3-0 wins at home to West Brom and away to Wolves respectively while Norwich won 2-1 at Bolton. All three are now clear of the relegation zone at this embryonic stage of the season.

“People have identified that we are a good side,” said Brendan Rodgers following his side’s win.

“What we have failed to do in the first four games was, through a little bit of bad luck I felt, was to get that final touch to get a goal.”

Both Neil Warnock and Paul Lambert echo the sentiment that the newly promoted clubs are not just there to make up the numbers.

“It was probably as complete a performance as you are going to get away from home,” said the QPR manager.

While the Norwich gaffer claimed that he thought his team “deserved to win the game” at the Reebok Stadium.

Although Swansea and Norwich remain the 8/11 and 4/5 respective favourites to be relegated their odds have been eased since the weekend. QPR are now out to 10/3 in the relegation betting markets as their new signings begin to settle in.
