Potters to send Trotters down

No side in the league has scored fewer goals than the Potters this season

Bolton Wanderers travel to the Britannia Stadium on Sunday knowing that only a win over Stoke City will give them any chance of Premier League survival.

Marc Wilson is a doubt for the hosts but Jermaine Pennant and Andy Wilkinson are likely to be available.

Gretar Steinsson is out through injury but Bolton manager Owen Coyle expects Mark Davies, Nigel Reo-Coker and Darren Pratley to be available for selection. Defender David Wheater will be out for nine months having sustained cruciate ligament damage to his knee.

Stoke have won only one of their last 10 matches but they have not been beaten at the Britannia Stadium since February. A Bolton win is available at odds of 19/10 with William Hill.

No side in the league has scored fewer goals than the Potters this season but Bolton's last clean sheet also came back in February. Tony Pulis will therefore be hopeful that his side can break down a defence that has conceded more second-half goals than any other Premier League side. The home side can be backed at 5/2 with Ladbrokes to score in both halves.

With Queens Park Rangers facing a difficult trip to Manchester City, Owen Coyle will be confident that a win over Stoke will be enough to ensure his side's safety. However, although Stoke have little to play for, they will want to finish the season on a high and they may have too much for an out-of-soughts Trotters side with just one win in seven games.

Sky Bet's odds of 6/4 for a home win seen far too high to resist while Bet 365's odds of 43/40 also look good for the game to yield fewer than 2.5 goals.
