PSG enter Beckham race

the French side are 6/4 favoruites to sign Beckham

Paris St Germain have thrown their hat into the ring to sign David Beckham when the midfielder’s LA Galaxy contract expires at the end of this year.

Beckham worked under PSG’s sporting director Leonardo when they were both at AC Milan and the Brazilian World Cup winner has admitted he would be keen on bringing Beckham to Paris.

“He is more than a football player, but when you see him every day he trains and plays like a kid,” said Leonardo of the former England midfielder.

“He is someone that I really appreciate and admire so much - his values and everything he has done in football.”

PSG spent a total of £75.6 million in the summer following the investments of the Qatar Investment Authority. When asked about whether the club would be interested in signing Beckham Leonardo was not shy in declaring his admiration of the player.

“The door is open. He is more than a football player - he's a brand, a pop star. I would always consider him,” added the Brazilian in an interview with BBC Sport.

As a result of Leonardo’s comments Sky Bet have introduced PSG to their David Beckham next club betting market and make the French side 6/4 favoruites to sign the 36-year-old.

QPR and Tottenham, who have both been linked with the player earlier this month, are priced at 5/2 in the market while Arsenal are 6/1.
