QPR step up Beckham interest

Sky Bet make PSG the 6/4 favourites

Co-owner Amit Bhatia has confirmed that Queens Park Rangers would be interested in bringing David Beckham to the club when his La Galaxy contract expires in November.

Beckham will be available on a free transfer when his five-year deal in Los Angeles comes to and end later this year. The player has yet to speak about his future but a whole host of clubs are lining up to make the 36-year-old an offer.

QPR are one of the clubs that had been rumoured to be interested in the player and now Bhatia has confirmed they will make him an offer, but confesses that Rangers may not be his first choice.

“It’s something Tony [Fernandes] and I have discussed and we would throw our hat into the ring for someone like him,” said Bhatia

“I’m not certain Beckham would want to join a newly promoted club.

“If he wanted to come to London maybe he would choose Tottenham.”

Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with the former England midfielder and a move to the French capital would see Beckham link up with Leonardo, who he worked under at AC Milan.

Sky Bet make PSG the 6/4 favourites in the David Beckham January transfer betting market, but they’re closely followed by QPR and Tottenham who are both priced at odds of 5/2 to snap him up. A move to Arsenal, where he trained for a short period in 2008, is the 6/1 fourth-favourite.
