Redknapp eyes Monday return

The Spurs boss has missed his side's last two matches

Harry Redknapp is hopeful of returning to the Tottenham Hotspur dugout for this Monday’s Premier League clash with Aston Villa.

The Spurs boss has missed his side’s last two matches following minor heart surgery but assistant Joe Jordan, who has taken temporary control in Redknapp’s absence, has revealed he could be back this weekend.

“There's a possibility Harry will be back for the Villa game. He's very keen and optimistic of that happening,” said Jordan.

“It will depend on his conversation with the medical people who are giving him advice. If he comes to the game he'll be on the bench. If he's at the stadium why wouldn't he be on the bench making decisions and being involved?

“Against Fulham it would have been torture watching the game and not making substitutions or decisions. I don't think it will have been too easy to watch the last 20 minutes on TV.”

A much-changed Spurs side lost 1-0 to Rubin Kazan in the first game that Redknapp missed, but defeated Fulham 3-1 in the second.

Spurs are the 4/7 favourites with Bet365 to pick up all three points this Monday and are now 10/11 to achieve a top four finish.
