Spurs 7/4 to capture Hazard

The 21-year-old is expected to attract a hefty price tag

Sky Bet make Tottenham the strong 7/4 favourites to sign Lille midfielder Eden Hazard this summer after the Belgian hinted at a move to White Hart Lane.

Hazard had been linked with moves to Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City, but if the midfielder’s recent comments are anything to go by the Lilywhites appear to have stolen a march on their rivals.

Maybe it will be Tottenham. It is a great English club,” the youngster told Belgian television.

“I said that I would go to England and there is very good players [at Spurs]. I have not yet signed, this is going to happen soon.”

The 21-year-old is expected to attract a hefty price tag due to his current contract in France running until 2015. He has made over 100 appearances for Lille since making his debut as a 16-year-old, and also has 25 full international caps for his country.

It was thought that Hazard would be lined up as a replacement for Cesc Fabregas at Arsenal, but although the Gunners are still a 7/1 chance to sign the player their interest is understood to have cooled considerably of late.

A move to Spain is also a possibility with both Barcelona and Real Madrid quoted at odds of 14/1 in Sky Bet’s market.
