Spurs and Reds made FA Cup favourites

William Hill are unable to split the two

Bookmakers have moved to make Liverpool and Tottenham 5/2 co-favourites for the FA Cup following the weekend’s fifth round action.

Liverpool were emphatic 6-1 victors over Championship side Brighton on Sunday, while Spurs were held to a goalless draw at Stevenage. But having each been handed home draws in the quarter-finals William Hill are unable to split the two in their FA Cup winner market.

Hills also offer odds of just 9/4 that Spurs, Chelsea, Liverpool and Everton will be the competition’s semi-finalists and 5/1 that we see a Liverpool versus Tottenham final.

“'We're expecting the cream to rise to the top, and the four biggest clubs left in the competition to be the semi finalists,” said Graham Sharpe of William Hill.

Liverpool are quoted at odds of just 1/5 to see off Stoke in the next round, while Spurs are 1/20 to see off Stevenage at White Hart Lane next Wednesday to set up another home tie against Bolton.

Sunderland’s reward for a 2-0 win over Arsenal is an away trip to Goodison Park where they are the 6/5 outsiders to reach the semi-finals. Everton are 8/13 to progress from the tie.

The winner of the Chelsea v Birmingham replay will be at home to Leicester, who beat Norwich 2-1 at Carrow Road on Saturday to reach the quarters.
