Spurs to continue trotting along

Spurs have scored at least two goals in each of their last 10 games

Tottenham Hotspur host Bolton Wanderers at White Hart Lane hoping to win three points that would see them leapfrog Manchester United into second place in the Premier League table.

Having rested many of his stars for the Europa League defeat to PAOK Solonika on Wednesday, Harry Redknapp will have a fresh squad that should include the fit-again Rafael van der Vaart. Emmanuel Adebayor is also expected to start having scored four times in his last two appearances.

David Wheater is suspended for Bolton following his red card against Everton but Dedryck Boyata and David Ngog may return for the visitors.

Spurs had 23 shots on goal in their last Premier League match against West Bromwich Albion and 14 of them hit the target. They have scored at least two goals in each of their last 10 games and will fancy their chances of continuing that run against a side with the worst defensive record in the league.

Bolton find themselves languishing in the bottom three having lost 10 of their 13 league games this season. Their apparent inability to steal a draw has damaged their high hopes at the beginning of the season. Owen Coyle will be hoping for a change of fortune but the form guide suggests he will have no luck at White Hart Lane.

Spurs are on an impressive run of form that has seen them win 28 points from a possible 30 in their last 10 games. It is difficult to make a case for anything other than a home win but odds from Sky Bet as low as 2/7 may deter the punters. Having only failed to score a first-half goal in one of their last ten games in all competitions, Spurs should lead Bolton both at half-time and at full-time. Odds of 20/23 with Stan James appear to be much better value.

When the possibility of a goal rout exists, value can often be found in the anytime goalscorer markets. Adebayor is 17/20 with Victor Chandler to continue his goalscoring form while penalty-taker Van der Vaart is a tempting Even money bet.
