Stoke v Brighton Betting Odds

It has never rained goals at the Britannia at either end with Stoke scoring 19 and conceding 14 in 13 league games.

Stoke City entertain League One leaders Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday in the 5th Round of the FA Cup. Both sides have never won the FA Cup with The Albion coming closest by finishing runner up in 1983.

Brighton have scrambled their way past Woking and FC United of Manchester, followed by impressive victories over Championship sides Portsmouth and Watford to get to this stage. Stoke have beaten Cardiff and Wolves to get to the fifth round.

The Potters will be without Mamady Sidibe for the rest of the season after he injured his Achilles. On the plus side for Stoke, they should have Matthew Etherington back along with Abdoulaye Faye.

Brighton should have Chris Wood and Matt Sparrow available but they will be without a host of players including: Alan Navarro, Radostin Kishishev, Jimmy McNulty, Jamie Smith and the cup tied Craig Noone.

Brighton not so prolific away from Hove

The Albion may top League One but this is mostly due to their magnificent home form. They are unbeaten all season at home whilst away from The Withdean Stadium they have lost four and drawn four with six wins. Stoke are on a good run at the Britannia winning their last three games and are clear favourites to win on Saturday at 4/6. Odds for a draw are roughly 12/5 whilst odds on Brighton are a decent 4/1. Brighton have already knocked out two teams in higher leagues but a Premiership team could be a step too far for them.

Stoke's Solid Carew

In the first goal scorer market, Stoke's recent signing John Carew looks a good price at 9/2 to notch first. The Norwegian has already opened his account, having scored against Sunderland in their 3-2 victory. For Brighton, top scorer Glenn Murray is 8/1 to notch first, the striker has 14 goals in all competitions and grabbed a brace last weekend.

Brighton's top scorer in the FA Cup this season is Francisco Sandaza with four goals. The Spaniard has yet to hit top form, but with his natural finishing ability, 4/1 for him to score anytime looks like a good price.

It has never rained goals at the Britannia at either end with Stoke scoring 19 and conceding 14 in 13 league games. Brighton have not scored a great amount away from home making Saturday look like it should be a low scoring encounter. You can back under 2.5 goals in the game at generous betting odds of 5/6.

This tie features two very different football styles. Stoke have their direct approach that raises the decibel levels at the Britannia, whilst Brighton like to keep the ball and play a passing game. It will be interesting to see if they will be able to dominate possession against Tony Pulis's side who will be fired up by the prospect of a place in the Quarter Finals.
