Suarez 3/10 to stay at Anfield

The Uruguayan has had a controversial first full season at Anfield

Bookmaker Paddy Power are offering odds of 3/10 that Luis Suarez remains a Liverpool player at the close of the summer transfer window as the club move to quash rumours of a potential departure to Paris St Germain.

The Uruguayan has had a controversial first full season at Anfield and there have been suggestions that he could leave the club in the summer. But the club’s managing director Iain Ayre remains confident that the striker will stay at the club following talks between the two parties in the summer.

“Listen, he's got a contract until 2016, he has said he wants to stay. I am sure Damien will be speaking to his agent,” stressed Ayre.

“Who wouldn't want Luis Suarez? He is absolutely fantastic. He is such a popular member of our team.

“But they are the things we talk about behind closed doors, and we will further that discussion when it is right and proper.

“Luis is a vital and important part of our set-up, and long may that continue.”

Paddy Power offer odds of 5/1 that he joins PSG this summer, with Real Madrid the next favourites in the betting at 14/1.
