Taylor Extends Deal at Swansea

He has committed himself to the Welsh side which will come as a huge relief to both staff and fans

Defender Neil Taylor has agreed a new contract to stay at Swansea City for the 2011-2012 Premier League season.

Taylor has been tracked by a number of top English clubs with Newcastle United reportedly ready to make a big bid for the player.

However, he has committed himself to the Welsh side which will come as a huge relief to both staff and fans of the newly promoted outfit.

“This has been the hardest month of my life. There has been so much written and said about me that was untrue it really hurt at times,” said Taylor.

“The reason I've said nothing until now is because I had an agreement with the club that nobody would speak to the media until an agreement on a new contract had been reached.”

Taylor will form an integral part of the backline which Swansea will have to rely on if they are going to stay up this season.

Swansea are currently the favourites to be relegated back to the Championship at 4/7.
