Tevez 13/10 to score from bench against Blues

10/1 that he comes off the bench and scores the match-winning goal

Carlos Tevez is a 13/10 chance to score for Manchester City in this Wednesday evening’s match against Chelsea after Roberto Mancini confirmed that the Argentine could be named on the substitute’s bench.

“He is getting better but I don't think Carlos can have more than 25-30 minutes,” said the City boss. “He needs to play but for 90 minutes it is impossible.”

Tevez has not played for The Citizens since his infamous dispute with his manager in Munich earlier in the season. However, since apologising for his actions and returning to the club he is now back in contention for first-team action.

Bookmaker Paddy Power are also quoting odds of 10/1 that he comes off the bench and scores the match-winning goal against Roberto di Matteo’s rejuvenated Chelsea side this Wednesday.

The Irish firm also offers odds on how much of the game Tevez gets to play at the Etihad. An odds-on price of 5/6 is available on the 28-year-old being an unused sub, while it is 7/2 that he plays 1-10 minutes and the same price that he features for 11-20 minutes.

With Mancini having hinted that he could be ready to play up to half an hour there are odds of 6/1 available on Tevez being involved for 21-30 minutes, with the 50/1 on him playing the whole match reflecting the manager’s comments that he is not yet fit enough to be named in the starting XI.

City are the 19/20 favourites to record a 15th home win of the season by beating Chelsea, but are out to 17/10 in the Premier League title betting after United established a four-point lead at the top with victory over Wolves on Sunday.
