Tevez 5/2 to stay at Etihad after successful return

Tevez has scored four goals in his last two games

Roberto Mancini has refused to rule out the possibility of Carlos Tevez staying at the Etihad Stadium into next season, with bookmaker Sportingbet offering odds of 5/2 that he is still a Manchester City player at the end of the summer transfer window.

Tevez has scored four goals in his last two games since returning to the City starting XI and could play a pivotal role in The Citizens’ challenge for the Premier League title.

“I don’t know. What is important now is we think about the next four games,” said Roberto Mancini when asked if the player would be at the club next season.

“After that, we can see what will happen with all the players. There is no problem with the other players. No, it’s in the past.”

Odds of 2/7 are still offered about Tevez leaving the club, with Paris St. Germain made Sky Bet’s 3/1 favourites to be the club that signs him.

Inter Milan are the 4/1 second favourites, with AC Milan priced at 6/1 and Corinthians and Juventus each available to back at odds of 8/1.

“I am very happy that I played very well but the most important thing is that I want to say thank you to my colleagues for all the support they have given me since I arrived,” said Tevez after Saturday’s 6-1 win over Norwich.

“It wasn't easy coming back to training and to play but they have given me a lot of support and the technical staff have been very good to me too. I really appreciate everyone's help.”
