Tevez odds-on to score on comeback

10/1 that he refuses to come off the bench in another competitive game

Ladbrokes offer prohibitively short odds of 4/7 that Carlos Tevez scores in his first ‘comeback’ match for Manchester City.

The previously estranged Argentine forward played for City’s reserves on Tuesday evening for the first time since issuing an apology to the club and supporters regarding his actions in Munich earlier this season. It is understood that once the striker regains his fitness he will be considered for the first team by manager Roberto Mancini.

“Once he's match-fit Tevez can still make an impact for City and if they want to win the title it looks like they'll happily welcome him back if he starts firing in the goals,” said Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes.

Ladbrokes quote odds as short as 1/20 that Tevez features in a Premier League game for City this season, and 7/1 that he is left out in the cold. It is 1/4 that he scores during any remaining Manchester City Premier League fixture this season and 11/4 that he doesn’t, while they also offer odds of 10/1 that he refuses to come off the bench in another competitive game this season.

“We're not ruling out another tantrum from Tevez,” added Bridge.
