Tevez odds-on to stay at City for next season

Tevez has scored four goals in three games since returning to the Manchester City starting XI

Ladbrokes are now offering odds of just 2/5 that Carlos Tevez is a Manchester City player on the opening day of the 2012/13 season after the Argentine admitted he would like to stay at the club into next season.

“This club has been building something special for the past few years,” Tevez told the Manchester Evening News. “It was the project and the dream that made me come to City in the first place.”

“I’ve been here since the start of that project and I share the same vision as Sheikh Mansour.

“He has always been brilliant with me and I want to repay his faith and stay here as long as it takes to make the project a success.”

Tevez has scored four goals in three games since returning to the Manchester City starting XI and claims that his relationship with manager Roberto Mancini is fine, and that they have now put the past behind them.

“My relationship with the manager is totally fine, he has been as good as gold with me and there have been absolutely no problems,” added Tevez. “There's been a lot said and written this season but that's in the past.”

Ladbrokes also offer odds of 7/4 that Tevez is moved on in the summer, but go 8/1 that he wins next season’s Premier League Golden Boot.

“Despite his assurances we're still wary of a Tevez u-turn. If he stays and keeps his head straight he must be a huge runner to be top scorer however,” said Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes.
