Tottenham v Man City Betting Preview

The last three meetings between these two sides have produced two goals

Manchester City put their 100% record on the line this Sunday lunchtime when they travel to White Hart Lane to take on the pointless Tottenham.

Emmanuel Adebayor will not make his Tottenham debut this weekend following his loan move to north London as he is ineligible to play against his parent club. Luka Modric is expected to make his first appearance of the season while Kyle Walker and Jermaine Jenas return from viruses.

City manager Roberto Mancini will have new signing Samir Nasri at his disposal while Nigel de Jong is the only injury concern for the Citizens.

However, David Silva has been the catalyst to City’s tremendous start to the season while the in-form Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero are certain to start leaving Mancini with something of a selection headache if he wants to hand his new Frenchman a starting berth.

Spurs were unlucky to come away from Old Trafford with nothing more than a 3-0 defeat last Monday and things don’t get any easier this weekend. City’s blistering start has convinced many that they are genuine title challengers this season; even Harry Redknapp has confessed that the title is between City, Manchester United and Chelsea.

The last three meetings between these two sides have produced a total of just two goals, while City have scored just once – a Peter Crouch own goal – in the last four head-to-heads. On that basis the under 2.5 goals bet at 11/10 looks an obvious selection.

The visitors are made the 6/4 favourites in the Tottenham v Man City match odds betting. Although they’ve put in impressive performances in the two games so far this season it’s a little early to suggest that Mancini’s side should be made favourites for away trips to other ‘big 6’ clubs. Tottenham can be backed at 2/1 and the draw is 9/4.
