United made favourites to sign Hazard

Sky Bet go 3/1 that Hazard joins Manchester United this summer

Manchester United are made the 3/1 betting favourites to sign Belgian midfielder Eden Hazard as Lille president Michel Seydoux admits his club are fighting a losing battle to keep the youngster.

Many of Europe’s top clubs have been monitoring Hazard over the past 12 months as it has become increasingly likely that he leaves France this summer transfer window, with a move to the Premier League apparently being preferred.

“Eden [Hazard] wants a European experience outside France. We cannot hold him,” confessed the Lille president in an interview with RMC.

“If he already spent two more seasons in France, it is because we have been a very strong club. We make no sales here.”

Sky Bet go 3/1 that Hazard joins Manchester United this summer, with Tottenham close behind in the betting at odds of 4/1 and both Arsenal and Manchester City each at 5/1. Chelsea are the outsiders of English football’s Champions League contenders for next season, at odds of 7/1.

Sir Alex Ferguson has also admitted his admiration of Hazard in recent weeks, after watching Lille play against Lyon.

“When I went to watch Lyon versus Lille, last time, of course I saw Hazard playing but also other players which is part of my job,” said the United boss, also to RMC.

“I can confirm Hazard is a very good player, he has so many qualities, he is very fast over the first ten metres.”
