Next West Brom Manager Betting

It appears that at this early stage of proceedings nobody really knows whom Pearce will turn to

The bookmakers have differing opinions on who will replace Roberto Di Matteo as West Brom's next permanent manager.

Following a run of 13 defeats in 18 games the West Brom hierarchy came to the decision on Sunday afternoon that a new manager was necessary in order to give the club the best chance of avoiding the drop.

With The Baggies above the relegation zone by virtue of goal difference only West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace moved to make the 'tough decision'.

"If this run continues much longer, achieving our goal of retaining our Premier League status will become increasingly difficult. That is why we felt compelled to act now, ' said Pearce

Di Matteo's assistant Eddie Newton has also been relieved of his duties with first-team coach Michael Appleton being placed in temporary charge ahead of a run of crucial games that sees The Baggies face West Ham, Wolves, Stoke and Birmingham in their next four fixtures.

Former Newcastle manager Chris Hughton has been installed as the betting favourite to be the next permanent manager of West Brom with most online firms, but his odds range from as short as 6/4 to as big as 7/2 in places.

Another former Newcastle manager Sam Allardyce is also towards the forefront of the betting with one online firm going as short as 6/5 on him taking the hotseat at the Hawthorns while others go as big as 7/1.

Martin Jol is available to back at a range of odds from 7/2 to 5/1 while current St Johnstone manager and former West Brom player Derek McInnes is available to back at odds of between 4/1 and 9/1.

Should Appleton be given an opportunity to stake his claim for the job then must-win games at home to fellow relegation threatened sides West Ham and Wolves would make or break his chances. He can also be backed at odds ranging from 4/1 to 8/1 depending on your online bookmaker of choice.

It appears that at this early stage of proceedings nobody really knows whom Peace will turn to in order to try and arrest his club's slide down the Premier League table. With the aforementioned run of upcoming fixtures a swift and shrewd appointment could prove to be of paramount importance to West Brom's Premier League survival aspirations.
