West Brom v Tottenham: Spurs to maintain hot streak

of the seven away victories Spurs had last year, four of them finished 1-2

On Saturday, West Bromwich Albion host Tottenham Hotspur in what could be a very intriguing match-up. The home side have not been in the best of form this season, their first full campaign under manager Roy Hodgson, having failed to live up to the standard set last year in finishing 11th in the final league standings.

They do currently sit 10th in the table, but that is arguably a false position given that they are only three points ahead of Wolves in 17th showing how tight the league will be this year. They have had a complete role reversal from last year, where they didn’t know how to keep a clean sheet – just two all season. This time around, they don’t know how to find the net bagging only 11 goals; only Wigan and Swansea have netted fewer (both with 10).

As for the visitors, they are on a roll having won four league games in a row and are unbeaten in nine overall. They have clearly got over their nightmare start to the season where they lost to both Manchester clubs in the opening two games. Emmanuel Adebayor has now cemented himself as a first-team regular after his loan move from Manchester City. Scoring both of Spurs’ goals in a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa and assuring the White Hart Lane club of third position in the league coming into their game at the Hawthorns.

With players like Scott Parker being the ‘rock’ to allow the rest of Spurs’ midfield talent to showcase their skills should allow them to comfortably deal with any problems that the Baggies will pose. Generally, Spurs are available for the win at 20/21 with Boylesports. This looks like good value considering the form that Harry Redknapp’s men are in. If you are a fan of going for correct scores, then out of the seven away victories Spurs had last year, four of them finished 1-2. Should this appeal it is available at 15/2 with Bet365.
